watching oprah honor everyday heroes.
first of all, im such a puss. ive been crying for almost an hour straight watching.
somedays, especially with recent events (Ft. Hood) & right here in my own hometown (RIP Shaniya Davis) im just so let down by people & how mean, rude, disrespectful, CRAZY they can be. i hate to say this, but i sometimes get glimpses of lost hope in humanity. watching oprah (right now) & seeing all these average people go out of their way to help & on some occasions save other people’s lives while risking their own…its beautiful. & also, seeing 500 troops, right here! in my hometown! being able to be home for the holiday with their families, including my stepfather, CW3 James Ellis medevac pilot, it just warms & makes my heart happy. i find it truly amazing how just plain ol’ people can have such courage & brave hearts. its moments like these that that glimmer of lost hope vanishes & my faith in humanity is restored.
God Bless all these gorgeous gorgeous people.<3
